The endorsement was made at a stakeholders meeting held in Yola where over 200 Ardos, district heads, women leaders and youth representatives of Fulbe associations converged to deliberate on the political future of the Fulani community in Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Sa’adu Mohammed said the decision followed wide consultations across all the 21 LGAs, adding that the community had resolved to queue behind candidates with proven track record of competence, fairness and commitment to unity.

He described Obi as a detribalized Nigerian who has the capacity to fix the economy, secure the country and give every ethnic group a sense of belonging, while describing Binani as a mother and a bridge-builder who understands the challenges facing Adamawa, especially in the areas of education, healthcare and pastoral welfare.

Also speaking the women representative Maryam Ahmed said Fulani women have suffered most from insecurity, displacement and loss of livelihood, and expressed confidence that Obi and Binani would address the farmer-herder crisis through dialogue, ranching and modern livestock development, rather than force.

The Youth Leader of the group, Usman Ardo also called on all Fulani sons and daughters across Adamawa to mobilize their families and communities to vote massively for Obi and Binani, stressing that the endorsement was not for selfish interest but for the progress of the state and the nation.

Responding, the NDC governorship candidate in Adamawa State Aishatu Dahiru Binani promised to establish modern ranches across the three senatorial districts of the state as a lasting solution to the farmer -herder crisis if elected in the forthcoming election

Binani said her administration would adopt ranching grazing reserves, cattle routes rehabilitation, provision of water, veterinary clinics and improved seedlings to end the recurring clashes that have claimed lives and destroyed farms and livelihoods

She further pledged to set up a Farmer -Herder Peace Commission, empower local vigilantes and community leaders and provide soft loans and training for both farmers and herders to embrace modern agriculture and livestock production, stressing that peace and development can only come when both groups live and work together in harmony

The gathering ended with prayers for peace and a commitment by the Ardos of the 21 LGAs, pledging to work in their respective domains to ensure the victory of the endorsed candidates at the polls.
