Hardship: Bishop Mamza extends food, cash incentives to 50 vulnerable widows
The Bishop of Yola Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza has on Wednesday extended food and cash palliatives to no fewer than 50 most vulnerable widows to mitigate the hardships they are currently going through.
Speaking during the distribution of the food and cash at Catholic Secretariat Yola, Mamza said he deemed it necessary to extend the gesture in order to lessen the hardship the women are going through considering the debilitating impact of flood and drought on their farms.

Items distributed to the widows include 50kg of corn and N3,000 logistic support to each of the beneficiaries.
He urged the women to judiciously use the food to feed their families warning them not to sell the items.
The clergy urged well to do individuals in the society to contribute to humanitarian causes especially to the most vulnerable members of the society as people are going through serious hunger and hardship.
Thanking the Bishop on behalf of the beneficiaries, Madam Veronica Ojo said the food and cash donation couldn’t have come at a better time in view of the hunger and hardship they are going through.
“We must thank the Bishop for coming to our rescue at this critical time when we have nothing to eat. May God replenish what he gave to us and prolong his life for the benefit of humanity,” she said.
