Bauchi electorates give Tinubu conditions for support in 2027
By Ahmed Ahmed
Electorates in Bauchi State have urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve two major developmental projects in return for their unwavering support and votes in the 2027 general elections.
They assured the president that if he grants their requests, he would not need to campaign in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the people, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, made this appeal during the commissioning of a 2.5-kilometer township road in Zaranda, Toro Local Government Area.

Dogara emphasized the electorate’s demand for the immediate drilling and exploration of the Kolmani Oil River in Bauchi and Gombe States.
Additionally, they called for the construction of the Bagel-Zungur Multipurpose Dam, an ambitious project estimated to cost N600 billion.
According to him, the successful execution of these projects would significantly enhance the region’s economic viability, provide potable water, generate electricity, and improve overall infrastructure.
“If Mr. The President approves these projects and commissions them, we do not need him to come here for the 2027 electioneering campaign.
“Mr. President, if you put it to a vote, you can see the people’s demand for yourself,” Dogara declared.
Earlier, Sen. Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that the construction of a 2.5-kilometer rural road in Zaranda represents a critical fulfilment of his campaign promise.
According to Buba, the road project, worth N850 million, is part of his constituency’s development plan included in the 2024 budget.
“Today’s commissioning is a manifestation of the promise I made to you. By the grace of Almighty Allah, I will fulfill all other promises,” he assured.
He noted that the rural road would enhance agricultural activities, facilitate economic opportunities, and improve transportation within the community.
“In light of this historic development, this commissioning is just the tip of the iceberg in the catalogue of programs we intend to carry out for the people of Bauchi South,” he added.
The State APC Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Tilde, commended Senator Buba for delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents.
He urged other elected officials to emulate his dedication to grassroots development and work towards unifying the party in the state.
