He explained that the record need to be straight regarding reports circulating in the media about remarks senator Jimkuta made on landing approval at Kashimbilla Airport.

According to him at an interview with newsmen during his monumental empowerment programme in Wukari, Senator Jimkuta commended the Honourable Minister of Aviation for working tirelessly to ensure that landing approval was granted as quickly as possible.

He explained that the senator used the forum to clarify that flights could not be operated on the scheduled date because the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) required at least two weeks to conduct necessary tests on the control towers to ensure operational safety as the reason many of his colleagues were not present at the occasion .

The spokesman of the senator added that at no point did the Senator accuse any individual or entity of deliberately denying him or his colleagues access to the airport.

” In fact, when specifically asked if he believed the action was intentional, he categorically stated that it was a matter of safety, and safety must always be paramount in aviation operations.”

Senator Jimkuta urges media organizations to prioritize diligence and accuracy in their reporting.

“It is concerning that despite the presence of multiple media outlets at the event, many simply relied on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as their primary source without independent verification,” the statement said.

According to the statement the Senator remains committed to transparency and constructive engagement with all stakeholders to advance the interests of Taraba State and Nigeria at large.
