College of Legal Studies Yola, Adamawa correspondents’ chapel forge strategic partnership
In a renewed push to foster institutional visibility and strengthen the bond between academia and the media, Adamawa State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has entered into a collaborative partnership with the College of Legal Studies, Yola.
The partnership was initiated during a courtesy visit by members of the chapel to the college on Thursday.

Led by its chairman, Ibrahim Kado, the NUJ delegation sought to deepen engagement with the institution and reaffirm the media’s commitment to supporting the college’s growth and public image.
Kado emphasized the vital role of the media in telling the success stories of institutions and promoting education through strategic reportage.
“As journalists, our mandate includes amplifying developmental strides and bringing to light the achievements of institutions like yours,” he said.
He noted that the chapel is keen on building partnerships that promote transparency, excellence, and positive narratives within the state.
In his remarks, the Provost of the College, Barr. Ahmed Suleiman, welcomed the initiative, describing journalists as essential allies in nation-building and democratic accountability.
He appreciated the chapel’s visit and acknowledged the powerful role the press plays, especially during political and transition periods.
Suleiman noted that the college, founded in 1978, has trained many legal professionals, including lawyers and judges, who are serving across Nigeria.
He revealed that efforts are underway to upgrade the college’s certificate from Ordinary Diploma (OND) to a National Diploma (ND) in order to improve its academic standing.
The Provost, however, expressed concern over the spread of misinformation by detractors aiming to damage the institution’s reputation.
He called on the journalists to help correct such narratives by reporting verified and impactful stories about the college’s progress and contributions.
Other chapel members who spoke during the visit encouraged the college to continuously harness the power of media to promote its programmes and engage the public.
Both parties expressed optimism that the collaboration would evolve into a long-term relationship focused on mutual growth, enhanced publicity, and institutional development.
