The Adamawa State Police Command has reiterated ban on the usage of knockout, tinted glasses, motorcycles and covered number plates during the oncoming Yuletide.
A statement by the spokesman of the state police command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said the police command alongside sister security agencies are working round the clock to ensure a crime free Yuletide festivities.
“It is in view of this that the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, psc(+) has deployed Operational Personnel and assets for the Joint Patrol in order to provide watertight security within Yola Metropolis and other parts of the State to stem the tide of criminal activities before, during and after the Yuletide.
“To further strengthen emplaced strategies, the commissioner of police has ordered the ban on the use of Motor cycles, Tinted Glasses and covered number plates used on SUVs by some unauthorised individuals. To this end, some unscrupulous elements resort to armed robbery, kidnapping, abduction and other heinous crimes.
“As celebrations during the Christmas and New year gathers momentum, and for a hitch-free celebration, the CP has made available the following hotlines;

“However, for the avoidance of doubt, the Commissioner of Police has issued clear directives and reiterated that the Command has taken all necessary drastic steps on ensuring that the celebration will be hitch-free as he calls on all and sundry to be law abiding and go ahead with their lawful businesses and warn those who intend to perpetrate any form of crime and criminality to desist forthwith or will be ready to face the full wrath of the law that awaits them.
“Finally, the Command is craving the indulgence of all stakeholders to avail the Police and other security agencies with credible information at all times so as to make the state crime free and a hitch-free Christmas and New year days,” the statement said.
