The pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu has felicitated with the Christian community calling on them to reflect on the significance of the day exemplified by sacrifice, sober reflection and humanitarianism.
While noting that the period is not only for merriment and revelries, Ribadu called on Christians to indulge in fervent prayers during the period for Nigeria to get some reprieve from the debilitating security and economic challenges currently dogging it.
He noted that more than anytime in its history, Nigeria needs the commitment of all sons and daughters to salvage its challenges noting that the Christmas day provided a unique opportunity to turn a new leaf and pray for God’s salvation and mercies.
“As people of faith, the Christian community has played very critical role in the development of Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole through prayers, moral rejuvenation and moderation.
” During times like these, the Christian community take the gauntlet to pray for the nation for God’s intervention into its affairs.
“More than anytime in its history, Nigeria needs prayers, commitment, sacrifice and dedication from all in order to defeat the myriads of challenges dogging it.
“Let us all use the spirit of the Christmas to enhance unity, camaraderie and brotherhood through sharing, visitations and exhortations so that Nigeria can regain its lost glory and pride of place,” Ribadu said.
