57-year-old man in police net for allegedly stabbing wife to death in Adamawa

A 57-year-old resident of Lande B village in Gombi local government of Adamawa State, Muhammad Alfa is currently cooling his heels in police custody for allegedly stabbing and killing his wife who bore eight children for him.

A statement by the image maker of Adamawa State police command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said the suspect, a commercial driver was arrested on January 1, 2022.

“The suspect, Muhammed Alfa, a resident of Lande B village, Gombi local government area, stabbed his late wife Hamsatu Muhammad with a knife after a little argument that resulted to divorce and separation.

“The wife relocated to a separate house close to her former house. In an effort to fixed her new room, she removed a zink door of her former house to fix on her new apartment.

” Angered by her action, the suspect used knife and stabbed the divorced wife and mother of his children on the neck, as a result of which she felt down unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.

“The suspect was apprehended by the Police in Gombi Divisional headquarters, following report received from one Jauro Babangida Boka, a village head of Lande.

” Investigation so far revealed that the suspect had eight children with the deceased before the ugly incident.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, psc(+) having directed for discreet investigations into the matter, equally advised members of the public to avoid taking laws into their hands.

” In the same vein, the police Boss has directed for immediate prosecution of the suspect so as to serve as deterrent to others from doing likewise,” the statement noted.
