Former speaker of Adamawa State House of assembly, Hassan Turaki has disclosed that his resolve to back the aspiration of Hon Abdulrazak Namdas was well placed adding that rigorous permutations and analyses conducted on APC aspirants have always projected Namdas above other aspirants.

The Namdas campaign train was in Toungo/Ganye/Jada and Mayo Belwa local governments of Adamawa State on Friday as part of its ongoing campaign to secure APC ticket ahead of the gubernatorial primaries of the party.

The campaign train was recieved by enthusiastic and mamooth crowd of supporters in all the places visited.

The former speaker noted that despite coming from Adamawa central senatorial zone, he is fully in support of Namdas due to his overwhelming leadership qualities.

Turaki who said they are in Jada local government to tell the people that Namdas is the best gubernatorial hopeful, urged them to embrace one of their own as he is simply the best.

“We are here not to campaign for Namdas but to simply tell you that other zones are fully in support of one of your own because he is the most popular aspirant we have.

“We have conducted rigorous analyses and permutations on all those aspiring to lead the state and we found that Namdas is the most preferred candidate that will wrest power from PDP and we have no alternative other than to support him,” he said.

Also speaking, a former coordinator of Local Apprenticeship Skills (LAS) under governor Murtala Nyako, Sani Jada said Nyako has fully endorsed Namdas gubernatorial aspiration.

“When Namdas approached me to support his aspiration, I told him that I have to consult with former governor Murtala Nyako first. He told me that we are going to meet Nyako together because Nyako is his father. When we told Nyako about our mission he gave his blessings and support to us,” he said.

Re-echoing the position of Jada, the former Attorney General of Adamawa State and commissioner of Justice under Nyako, Ibrahim Tahir, Halima Hayatu also a commissioner under Nyako, a former Adviser under Nyako, Ibrahim constitution and Abdulrahman Shuaibu all alluded to the fact that Nyako, their political benefactor, has blessed Namdas gubernatorial aspiration.

Also expressing the support of Adamawa southern senatorial zone to Namdas, a businessman and chieftain of the party in the area, Alhaji Babajo Iya, urged Namdas to go to sleep as far as his zone is concerned as he promised to deliver block votes to him.

Iya who is a childhood friend of former governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow who is also aspiring to lead the state for the second time, said, the overwhelming leadership qualities of Namdas made the people of the zone to ditch their own and embrace him.

“Namdas served as a federal lawmaker and he ensued that the federal road from Mayo Belwa to Toungo has been reconstructed while all the federal roads leading to Adamawa south are in state of disrepair.

“For this singular action, we felt that we must support Namdas as governor so that our zone could have a sense of belonging. The southern zone consisting of five local governments will give Namdas block votes. More than 80 of party executives from the zone are right here in Jada as a mark of what we intend to do,” he said.

Various party executives in the area who spoke glowingly about Namdas, expressed their support for his ambition for doing so much to the area adding that there is no ward that has not benefitted from Namdas representation in the federal constituency consisting of four local governments.

Also speaking, Namdas who thanked the people for the support they have accorded to him, said, he will replicate what he did in the area many times if he emerged as governor.

“I cannot thank you enough for electing me twice as your federal lawmaker. I urge you to trust me with the governorship mandate and I will multiply what I did in the past. This is because the office of the governor carries a lot of weight and powers in executing capital and impactful projects. Trust me with your mandates and I will do wonders,” he said.
