Adamawa is one of the three states that conduct best LG polls – Kano SIEC chair

The chairman of Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka, has lauded the conduct of local government election in Adamawa State saying that it is one of the three best LG elections in Nigeria.

Sheka who spoke with newsmen after inspecting the ongoing election Saturday in Yola and Jimeta expressed happiness with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election.

He noted that there is an appreciable turn out of voters in most of the polling units they inspected attributing the situation to the participation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which is the major opposition political party in the state.

Although he said there are hiccups here and there like late arrival of personnel and materials in some places, Sheka said the general conduct of the election was satisfactory.

Also speaking, the chairman Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, (ADSIEC), Isa Shettima lauded the conduct of the election.

He said although there is low turn out in some places visited, he said the conduct of the election is generally peaceful and orderly.

Shettima said the state independent electoral body did not impose restriction of movement because of the ongoing Ramadan fast so that Muslims could go about their daily chores unhindered.
