APC kicks as PDP sweeps Adamawa LG polls

The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has rejected the local government result announced by the state independent commission (ADSIEC) in which the electoral body returned all the PDP candidates that contested in the 21 local governments as elected.

ADSIEC has on Saturday April 9, 2022 conducted the local government polls across the 21 local governments of the state.

The ADSIEC chairman Isah Shettima in a chat with newsmen after inspecting the conduct of the polls gave his commission a pass mark.

The electoral body has earlier today announced the result with PDP winning all the 21 chairmanship positions.

But rejecting the result in its entirety in a chat with our reporter, the publicity secretary of the APC, Mohammed Abdullahi said that results declared by the electoral body are mere fabrications.

“There was no election anywhere in the state. They should just tell the people that that they have generated names of PDP candidates as winners.

“Election materials were not distributed. Up till now in some local governments, our people are guarding the materials.

“We are gathering our facts and we will respond accordingly. If they want to be lawless and they are governing the state we too can choose to be lawless.

“We are not under any oath to be law abiding they are pushing us to the wall and we are going to react and they will not be happy with our reaction because it will tell on Adamawa government and the state electoral commission,” he said.

Our reporter who went round some polling units across Yola and Jimeta on Saturday can confirm that election held in all the places visited although he observed some hitches including low turn out of voters, late arrival of election materials among other glitches.
