A frontline runner for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Adamawa Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Musa (Speaker) says he dumped his gubernatorial aspiration in the interest of the party and the people of the state.
Musa said his ambition is worth sacrificing in the interest of the people of Adamawa state.
“I had meetings with a high-powered delegation from well-meaning party leaders and Adamawa critical stakeholders and in the interest of the state, we reached consensus agreement to salvage All Progressives Congress, APC,” he said.
He however refused to disclosed who the party has agreed to fly the party’s flag for the Governorship contest.
He revealed that they are now working as a team to bring back APC government that will usher in new Adamawa State.
He urged his supporters to see his decision in the spirit of sportsmanship to deliver APC as rhe ruling party in the state come 2023 general election.
On his new turn of interest, Speaker, as he is fondly called said “I will give the people of Adamawa Central another good experience, a vibrant and productive representation for the entire zone”.
He pleaded with his supporters over the decision to switch his ambition adding that it was hard to take but assured them of excellent leadership and good dividend of democracy.
