Adamawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial torchbearer, Sen Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has disclosed that the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has no stake in 2023 advising the party to start preparing for its imminent ouster from the Dougirei government house come 2023.
Binani in her first interaction with newsmen after winning her party primaries, in Yola, Saturday stated that her party will deploy winning strategies to ensure defeating the ruling party comprehensively in 2023.
“I’m ready to face the incumbent. My party will come up with a strategy to win the confidence of the people and to mobilize for votes. By the time we set the ball rolling, PDP will know that they have no stake in 2023,” she said.
She expressed optimism of the support of the other gubernatorial aspirants whom she defeated in the keen contest noting that she will visit them one by one to seek their support adding that her victory is not a personal victory but victory for the party.
“In my acceptance address, I have said it that the victory is not my victory but victory for the party. It is a victory for all of us. We had an agreement before the election to support whoever emerged winner. I appreciate all the other aspirants for the comradeship they displayed and ensuring a rancour free exercise and displaying high degree of responsibility,” she said.
Binani who thanked her party for ensuring women inclusion in the exercise noted that the new approach has helped her course tremendously and boosted her winning chances in the primary election.
She noted that with the directive of the party to include two women as delegates per ward, women constituted a whooping 452 delegates out of the 1130 delegates that participated in the election noting that such development have her an important mileage as she got tremendous push from the women during the polls.
Binani added that her victory will serve as an inspiration to all women not only in Adamawa State but Nigeria adding that with her victory, young girls will have a renewed hope that one day they will reach or even surpass her feat.
The gubernatorial hopeful said she will pay human capacity development, youth and women empowerment, educational development, social security, child protection and development and mineral development a priority if she emerged governor of Adamawa State.
