The Congress of Northern Nigeria Christians (CNNC) has condemned in strong terms the killings in Catholic Church in owo, Ondo state last Sunday.
While briefing journalists yesterday in Yola, the national leader of CNNC, Engr. Daniel David Kadzia, said that the killing is a sign that Nigeria is under siege and wondered why government is sleeping on duty.
He said that when the crisis started in the northeast, southern leaders perceived the killings as northern affairs and they could not team-up with their northern counterparts to fight the devil of destruction.
“When the killings in Northeast started, there was no response from the southern leaders, now the devil has gathered momentum and extend its evil activities to the Southern region,” he said.
Kadzia pointed out that some religious leaders in the country are behind some of evil activities of the killer squad.
He said that some of their preachings are call for war against another religion, a situation he blamed government for not taking actions against such religious leaders.
According to the group peace can only be achieved in Nigeria, when both political and religious leaders sincerely come together to confront the devil.
The group called on president Muhammadu Buhari, to wake-up and face his constitutional duties of protecting lives and property in the country.
He condoles the Catholic church in owo and the affected families to to solace in God .
