Endorsing the election of Tahir who emerged as the sole aspirant of the party, the chairman electoral committee of NNPP, Salman Safiyanu Abdulsalam said Tahir emerged through affirmation by the 678 accredited delegates of the party.
Abdulsalam noted that three delegates were drawn each from the 226 wards of the state which constitute the 678 delegates that affirmed the party’s candidate.
He noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has duly endorsed all the processes leading to the emergence of Tahir as the gubernatorial candidate of the party.
Commenting on the process, the INEC supervisor of the election, Adamu Garba noted that the due process was observed leading to the election of Tahir.
He urged the people of the state to go to INEC office to collect their PVCs noting that more than 39,000 PVCs are yet to be collected.
While thanking the delegates and other stakeholders for the success of the exercise, the state chairman of the party Pineas Elisha said Tahir is the only candidate to beat in the state.
He urged the people to use their PVCs well by voting out the ruling party in the state for the general good of all as Tahir is the only man with the track record and patriotism needed to bail the state out of the woods.
Also thanking the delegates for the confidence reposed in him, Tahir said if elected, he will turn around the fortunes of the state as he has the capacity and wherewithal to change the state for good.
