Adamawa correspondents’ chapel produces three year compendium on Fintiri’s govt

The Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has produced a document in the form of a scorecard for the administration of the current government in Adamawa state and this document is due for presentation on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

A statement signed by the chairman of the correspondents’ chapel, Padio Phineas said the publication basically captures the Administration’s first three years in office.

“The Correspondent specifically looked into the giant strides of the present administration in terms of infrastructure the government came with which we feel is unprecedented. And as such we believe that it is good.

“We also looked into the various critical interventions in healthcare, construction of hospitals across the state particularly cottage hospitals. We also accessed the current free education policy of the government and the payment of NECO/WAEC examination fees for senior secondary school leavers across the state.

“We believe these are the projects the government presented in its 11-point agenda during campaign, and is implementing them holistically.

“The Correspondent Chapel think it is impressive and as such the government need some encouragement and pat on the back to spur them to do more for the benefit of the state.

“This by far is not patronizing or sycophancy and it is not about making the man feel good. It is about stating the facts the way they are.

“As watchdogs and members of the fourth estate of the realm, it is our responsibility to hold government accountable to the people for it’s actions and inactions. To also raise the alarm, criticize where and when necessary, it is also our task to commend the government when it is on the right track.

“This is the spirit with which we embarked on this project.

“As we celebrate yet another democracy day, we urge the entire good people of Adamawa state to support good governance at all levels for more gains of democracy.

“It is in this light that the Correspondent wishes to invite the general public to the official Unveiling of its Special Edition Magazine tag “Fintiri’s Three Years Scorecard: In the Eye of the Watchdog,” he said.
