Before the coming of the Fintiri led administration, councilors were relegated to the background as they rarely get mentioned or associated with community developmental strides.
But reverse is the case now, as Councillors under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri are now executing projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people at the grassroots.
Bearing in mind that Councillors are the government closer to the people at the grassroots, the Governor has made sure their entitlements are paid as at when due to enable them perform their duties diligently and effectively.
One of such performer is the Councillor representing Mijilu ward in Mubi North Local Government Area, 27 years old Silas Daniel Gasu.
In commemoration of his 27 years anniversary, the young politician embarked on what he tagged “Charity begins at Home” a maiden empowerment scheme for the people of his ward.
The councilor doled out the total cash sum of N275,000. After giving N100,000 to the party Exco of his ward, he shared the sum cash of N175,000 to 35 women petty traders across his ward.
He also donated a motorcycle, sets of jersey and 11 balls to the teaming youths of his ward, after commissioning the solar street lights he purchased and installed in strategic locations.
The young Councillor also donated, 12 bags of cement, 3 bags of Sugar, 2 bags of Rice and 2 cartons of spaghetti to be shared amongst the needy in his ward.
Hon. Silas has proven to be a worthy son to the people of Mijilu ward, a PDP grassroot mobilizer and a good representative of the people after being in office for just a few months.
