Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District has presented cash donation to the victims of Communal crisis in Lamurde and Guyuk local government areas in Adamawa state.
Making the financial assistance to the victims at Boshikri village and Lafiya town in Lamurde and Guyuk local government areas weekend, Senator Yaroe advised the victims to be tolerant and make peace with one another.
Represented at the occasion by the Director General of his campaign team, Katawan Boniface, Yaroe urged them to take the unfortunate incident as an act of God describing it as avoidable rift between brothers and sisters which can be addressed through patience and understanding.
Yaroe said the rationale behind the sympathy visit was to commiserate with them during their trying moment and to have a first information on the level of damage and destruction recorded in the crisis with a view to proper solutions to stop future reoccurrence.
Yaroe while acknowledging several efforts of governments to stop this ugly trend said that people need to learn to live in peace and to always use lawful approach in addressing misunderstanding among themselves.
He called on both sides to embrace dialogue as the best panacea to address differences and to inculcate habit of forgiveness noting that violence does more harm than good in the entire universe.
Responding to the gesture to his subjects,District Head of Lafiya town,Chief Clement Minakaro expressed gratitude to the Senator Yaroe’s magnanimity testifying he has always been by their side in thin and thick.
Chief Minakaro traced the cause of this annual communal conflict to land related dispute which has been existing for decades stressing that the traditional rulers in the Numan Federation are working assiduously to ensure all contending issues are solved once and for all.
He regrettably announced that 502 houses were burnt down with sixteen (16) people killed in the latest crisis.
Speaking on behalf of the victims, Madam Hannatu Joseph registered the appreciation of the affected victims to the Senator describing him as “a caring leader who continued to put the interest of his constituents above other considerations”.
Recall that the Lunguda and Waja communities in Lamurde and Guyuk local government areas in the state and part of Neighbouring Gombe state have been experiencing this communal disputes unabated where lives and properties are being destroyed always.
