The emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has poured encomiums and glowing tributes on the founder of Maryam Abacha University of Nigeria Kano, Professor Adamu Gwarzo for citing the citadel of learning in Kano.
The Emir who made the commendation when he paid a familiarization visit to the permanent site of the university located at Hotoro GRA Kano on Monday 8th August, 2022 expressed happiness over the quality of infrastructure he saw.
The Monarch said the university would go a long way in providing quality education to the citizenry in addition to boosting socio-economic activities of the people of the state.
Bayero was received on arrival by some management staff of the University including, the Founder and Chairman Governing Council of MAAUN conglomerate, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, President of MAAUN Kano, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr and Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar.
Others are Vice President Administration, MAAUN Niger, Dr. Shuaibu Tanko, Director Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Prof. Ibrahim Lawal of the School of Computing and Vice President Finance of MAAUN, Mr. Dauda Abdulrasaq Kayode, among others.
The emir was accompanied by some members of the Emirate Council and other traditional title holders from the Emirate.
During the visit, the emir was conducted round some places including the Control Room, the School of Nursing Sciences and the University Library after which he led Zuhr prayer at the University Central Mosque.
The visit had given the emir the opportunity to see the university which is the best Private University not only in Nigeria but in Sub-saharan Africa.
