No fewer than 42,000 women, youth and students in Adamawa have endorsed the presidential bid of former vice president Atiku Abubakar as well as the succession plan of governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri come 2023 general elections.
Leadership of the various groups during separate visits to the special adviser to governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on youth mobilization, Alh. Saidu Sarkin Zana reiterated their stance to embrace PDP from top to bottom in 2023 general election.
Leadership of the groups who took turns to eulogize governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the former Vice President of Nigeria for their spiritedness and developmental strides noted that the aspiration of the two political figures is in tandem with the aspiration of the masses.
In her speech, an APC leader Haj. Rabiyatu Aliyu Mustapha who said she is leading a group of 18,000 registered voters noted that following intensive consultations, they have decided to pitch tent with the PDP and vowed to work hard for her new party to emerge victorious from top to bottom.
She noted that her group decided to endorse PDP based on the their strong economic blueprint and solid developmental trajectories.
On their part, the students, under the umbrella of the National Union of Adamawa State Students also expressed support to the aspiration of Atiku and Fintiri in the interest of peace, progress and development.
Leader of the students’ union Abdulrazak Adamu noted that in view of the gesture the Fintiri led administration accorded to the students, they have resolved to wholeheartedly and unconditionally vote for Atiku and Fintiri next year.
“We have a strength of about 24,000 members. And we will give our unflinching support to the aspiration of Atiku and Fintiri as they represents peace, progress and development,” he said.
Also speaking, the secretary of the union, Comrade Habibu Umar Barde noted that the students of Adamawa State have concluded arrangement to bring block votes to the former Vice President and governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
“We will reach out to our members and mobilize them to support the campaign train of bring back AUF and also to ensure the success of Atiku Abubakar Waziri Adamawa as our incoming president come 2023, Insha Allah,” he said.
Also pledging their support for Atiku and Fintiri, a women group in Yola South under the aegis of Gada Garou Women association PDP support group for Atiku/Fintiri reiterated their resolve to embark on house to house campaign to mobilize women ahead of the 2023 general election.
Leader of the group, Fatima Yusuf noted that women have benefitted tremendously from the PDP government of Adamawa State in the areas of free education, availability of pre natal and post natal health care and the payment of WAEC and NECO examination fees to their wards
She noted that for them to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy, it is incumbent on them to ensure continuity come 2023 election just as they vow to ensure the victory of Atiku Abubakar presidential ambition.
Speaking separately with the groups, Alh. Saidu Sarkin Zana thanked the leadership of the groups for the goodwill and support to all PDP candidates noting that PDP is the only party with the masses in its heart.
“I’m happy for the solidarity, love and goodwill you have extended to us. By the grace of God PDP will consolidate all its noble programs and policies when it comes back to power. And I believe with your spirited support, we are going to scale the hurdles,” he said.
