Senator Abdulaziz Nyako has expressed deep shock over the death of ace broadcaster and veteran journalist, Mr. Timaus Mathias.
The elder statesman died yesterday after a protracted illness at the age of 73.
In a statement by his Director Media and Publicity Auwal Usman Galadima, senator Nyako said the death of the media icon, Mr. Timawus Mathias was saddening not only to the people of Adamawa but to the whole country.
“His vast contribution to politics and good governance will forever be remembered.
“People like Mr. Mathias are mainly focused on transparency and accountability which is the bedrock for good governance and national development.
“His devotion for truth, unity, and growth is what made him revered by his peers. His ethical contribution and desire for a greater Nigeria should be emulated by all in the field of journalism. Mr. Timawus Mathias’s legacy will always be cherished.
“My family and supporters wish to send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleague,” the statement said.
