Adamawa police parade 39 suspected criminals, recover car, assorted weapons

In its efforts to rid the state of violent crimes including kidnapping, armed robbery etc, Adamawa State Police command has paraded no fewer than 39 suspected criminals for allegedly committing sundry offences.

In a press conference at the police headquarters, Tuesday, DCP Ajani Musibau Omolabi who stood in for the commissioner of police Sikiru Akande, noted that the effort was sequel to the renewed intelligence driven crime busting strategies adopted by the police.

Some of the items recovered by the suspected criminals according to Omalabu include a Toyota car, locally fabricated AK 47, locally fabricated gun, N900,000 cash, lives ammunition etc.

“In active preparation for 2023 general election, the crime fighting strategies by the command to clear pathways for a smooth electoral process and ensure public safety and order during the electoral process.

“The command challenged all officers to boost the security of the public space towards guaranteeing a crime free enabling environment for political campaigns and other components of electoral process.

“Police operatives drawn from crack squad and CID carry out an intelligence driven and crime boosting patrol to hideouts resulting to dismantling of criminal network,” he said.
