2023: Adamawa central youths, women roll out the drums for Dan Maje

As he flags off construction of standard divisional police station in Dumne

There was a spontaneous jubilation in the three districts of Yungur zone including, Waltadi, Suktu, Diterra and Dumne as women and youth rolled out the drums for the senatorial candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Ahmadu Hamman, who is also the title holder of Dan Maje Adamawa and Chiroma Jimeta.

The occasion which assumed a carnival mode saw youth and women pouring encomiums and praises on the senatorial hopeful for his love and care to them, adding that he is the first aspiring politician to bring such development even before election.

The youth and women then pledged to reciprocate the good gesture with their votes come 2023 as they said “one good turn deserves another.”

Receiving the politician in his palace, the acting district head of Diterra, Sa’ad Mohammed thanked Dan Maje for extending a hand of fellowship to the people of the district.

He noted that the presence of the police division will entrench security in the area adding that the project is vital considering that no meaningful development can be recorded in the absence of peace and harmony.

The traditional ruler enjoined other well meaning members of the society to emulate the kind gesture of the politician adding that he is the first aspiring senator to bring such a laudable project to the land.

Also appreciating the gesture, the
President of Yungur Area Development Association (YADA), Philimon Bakari Amtombita prayed God to reward the politician abundantly over the giant stride.

He urged the politician to hasten the construction so that it will be put to use before the coming election.

Amtombita expressed optimism that going by his antecedents, Dan Maje will not disappoint the people like other politicians who had in the past made fake promises noting that his regular visits to the area indicates his love for them.

Also thanking the politician, the Development area administrator of Yungur, Godwin Agelengdan urged the senatorial candidate to hasten the project so that it will not suffer disruptions because of the importance of security to the people.

Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony, the Director General of Dan Maje campaign organization, Ibrahim Bappa Waziri noted that his candidate deemed it fit to come to the rescue of the people over the failure of their own sons and daughters.

He noted that the area has a number of people in the state government including special advisers, lawmakers, commissioner and a host of others yet, even the house rent for the police station could not be paid.

Waziri said when he was told that the rent for the police station could not be paid, his principal pledged to build a state of the art divisional police for the people so that the issue of rent payment will be permanently addressed.

“We are today flagging off this project over the failure of those you elected to serve you well. Dan Maje never served in appointed or elected capacity before. He was a successful businessman and philanthropist who has done a lot for his people.

“This is the first time he is contesting for an elective position and even before he is elected, he has shown his true mettle. Avoid politicians who will come and tell you lies and take you for granted.

“We learnt that Adamawa State government has lied that it has finished the construction of this road but even culverts were not finished. This is a reminder of how these people continue to deceive you will lies and half truths.

“I urged you to vote for the man of integrity and an embodiment of honesty and compassion who will never deceive you will lies,” Waziri said.

Speaking, the senatorial hopeful, Ahmadu Hamman noted that he took it upon himself to construct a befitting state of the art police division because he was touched by the plight of the people.

“My desire to construct a befitting, modern state of the art police division followed a revelation that even the house rent for the police division could not be paid. I then made a vow to construct a permanent and befitting structure for the police because of the importance I placed on security of lives and properties.

“I assure you that I will complete this project before I was sworn in. I will ensure the construction of this vital road and other vital needs of the people like water, schools if elected,” he said.

Also speaking, the representative of Adamawa State commissioner of police, Sikiru Akande, Hassan Koji thanked the politician for the kind gesture.

He noted that such gesture will go a long way in enhancing the work of the police which is centrally the protection of lives and properties adding that the police will accord the politician maximum cooperation to ensure the timely delivery of the project.
