Rufai Umar, APC candidate in Adamawa lauds Aisha Buhari over meeting with stakeholders

A candidate vying to represent the people of Gombi state constituency in Adamawa State House of assembly, Rufai Umar, has lauded Aisha Buhari, the president’s wife for convening a meeting with all the stakeholders of Adamawa chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) which enhanced unity and cooperation in the party.

In a chat with our reporter, the candidate noted that the meeting has provided ample opportunities for reconciliation and rapprochement noting that with the resolve of stakeholders to rally round the party, victory is assured.

“I came back from that meeting highly motivated and strengthened knowing that I’m not along on this journey to represent my people in the house of assembly.

“Looking at the array of the people that attended the meeting, I’m convinced that Adamawa APC is a strong, united, cohesive and happy family ready to wrest power from the PDP.

“It is also heartwarming to note that the first lady has given us assurances that she will personally be on ground to ensure the success of this election campaign despite her tight schedules and the role she is playing to ensure the emergence of Tinubu as Nigeria’s president,” he said.

Umar noted that the meeting was a huge success in view of the turnout of stakeholders including elders of the party, all the 25 house of assembly candidates of the party, the 8 house of representatives candidates, the Gubernatorial aspirants and the party exco from the national to the state level.

“Such massive turnout signpost that despite the little hiccups here and there, the party is on course to grab power from PDP in the state and win every elective position from the assembly seat up to the presidency.

“I was amazed to see all the Gubernatorial aspirants with the exception of Binani are there. It is also worthy to mention that all respected leaders of thought, candidates across board and officials of the party were all at hand.

“I want to disabuse the minds of the people from rumours being peddled in some quarters that the meeting was convened to adopt some preferred aspirants. Nothing could be further from the truth. Let us all join hands with the first lady to restore the glory of our party,” he said.
