In a vicious recrimination, the organizing secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), in Adamawa State, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu has taunted the gubernatorial candidate of his party, Sen Aishatu Dahiru Binani saying that she is displaying the last kick of a dying horse over the imminent electoral defeat staring her in the face.
Ribadu made the statement amidst escalating tension and internal strife rocking the opposition party few days to the gubernatorial and house of assembly election.
Ribadu who accused the gubernatorial candidate of sponsoring vile attacks on his person and other members of APC in the state, said, Binani lacks the finesse, carriage and the nobility needed to run such an important and sensitive office.
The organizing secretary who was reacting to a virulent political screed allegedly sponsored by the gubernatorial candidate in which he was accused of anti-party and working against the victory of the APC guber candidate, said, such hideous blackmail has exposed Binani as a weak leader who lacks the temperament, tolerance, wisdom, moderation and tact needed to run the plum office she is vying for.
He accused her of being a bad influence in the party for her propensity to pick fights and unnecessary quarrels with real and percieved enemies adding that such attitude has turned her against majority of the party officials in the state.
Ribadu added that it is trite for Binani to accuse anyone of anti-party activity as she is the worst culprit in that respect accusing her of openly hobnobbing and romancing the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar against the presidential candidate of her party, Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu leading her to loss even in her own unit while he successfully won his polling unit for Tinubu
“If there is one person who engaged in the most awkward and unwholesome act of anti-party, that person is Binani. She circumvents party’s statutes with impunity and can do anything no the level of detriment to the party to fulfill her personal whims.
“She has also been circumventing court judgements with impudence. Binani’s shortcomings and erratic conducts are known to everyone in the party. She is highly arrogant and treats people with so much contempt and has been wanting in deliberately holding court orders and judgements in contempt too.
“For example, she vehemently refused to recognise the chairman of Yola south, Hon Ahmadu Mbamoi and two party chairmen in Mubi North and Mubi South. It is also on record the party invited her severally to discuss grey areas but she arrogantly refused to honour the invitation.
“We cannot forget how Binani changed our agents’ list to favour Atiku and by extension PDP. Most of the agents she submitted are known PDP apologists,” he said.
He noted that irked by such selfish proclivities, the member representing Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha in the house of representatives Hon Jafar Magaji recently accused Binani of changing all the agents of his constituency including that of his polling unit in Yelwa ward in Mubi North.
Ribadu also accused Binani of spending huge amounts to ensure certain executives of the party whom she hate with passion are suspended from the party including himself.
“Instead of being a rallying force in the party, Binani is the one stocking the embers of conflict and internecine war in the party by mobilizing to remove executives of the party she don’t like.
“She also mobilised people in my ward to suspend me, which in turn caused massive uproar that led to her suspension by 21 aggrieved Yola South local government exco of the party. Not done, she also contrived the botched suspension of the North East chairman of the party Comrade Mustapha Salihu by some Exco of his Rumde ward in Yola North.
“She is virtually fighting everyone in the party from ward to state level. Her distasteful mannerism made her to behave like a drunken sailor as she relishes in her most erratic moment. Not done has extended her angst even to dead party members who she held in utter contempt.
“It is on record, Binani refused to condole with the families of two LG party chairmen of the party who died recently. They are Alh Yuguda Muhammed and Hon Bako Waliya of Madagali and Hong LGA respectively. She vehemently refused to also condole with the party over the sad demise of the two party chairmen but the same Binani hurriedly commiserated with governor Fintiri when his convoy had accident along Mubi road.
He said Binani has remained hostile to Malam Nuhu Ribadu despite withdrawing his court case against her and his open support for her candidature which he reiterated during his visit to the state party secretariat.
“It is on record that Mal Nuhu Ribadu has told the party when he visited the secretariat that he is not going to the supreme court because APC may loose fielding a candidate in the 2023 election. There and then he told the party men and women to support all APC candidates from top to bottom but despite that assurance and olive branch he extended to her, she has continued her unnecessary aggression toward him,” Mustapha Ribadu said.
