Buhari explains why he breaks promise of staying in Daura after tenure
Immediate past president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, explained why he broke the promise he made that he will relocate and remain in his home town of Daura after serving out his tenure of office.

Buhari disclosed that he left Daura for London because he wanted to stay in a quiet place.
He explained that visitors have been trooping to visit him while in his hometown of Daura.

A statement by Buhari’s ex-media aide, Garba Shehu, read, “He chose to go home in Daura hoping to find the type of quiet he wished for himself, but realizing that this was not the case, visitors trooping in morning, day and night, he moved out to a more distant place.
“It remains his wish that he be allowed to have his needed rest, and for the Tinubu administration to have the right atmosphere to work on the realisation of the promises they made.”
Following the end of his administration, Buhari returned to his hometown of Daura.
However, the president had left Nigeria for London, after which, he met with President Bola Tinubu.
It was speculated that during the meeting, Buhari had requested a soft landing for members of his kitchen cabinet and former ministers currently in the radar of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti corruption agencies.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the suspension and arrest of Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor, Emefiele and the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Reports have indicated that the the suspended CBN Governor has been singing like a canary and has exposed high wired corruption he perpetrated alongside many powerful Nigerians including traditional rulers, politicians and civil servants.
