Majority Leader: Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti)
Deputy Majority Leader: David Umahi (APC, Ebonyi)
Senate Majority Whip: Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC, Borno)
Deputy Majority Whip: Lola Ashiru (APC, Kwara)
House of Representatives Majority Leadership Positions
House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas declared the following majority leadership positions:
Majority Leader: Julius Ihonvbere (APC, Edo)
Deputy Majority Leader: Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims (APC, Kogi)
Chief Whip: Usman Bello Kumo (APC, Gombe)
Deputy Chief Whip: Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (APC, Ogun)
Minority Leadership Positions

Party Conflict and Disagreement
The conflicting statements from the APC’s national chairman and the party’s governors have led to confusion and disagreement within the party. While Abdullahi Adamu denies any knowledge of the emergence of principal officers, Governor Hope Uzodinma, chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, expressed support for Akpabio and Abbas, stating that they have the backing of the party’s governors. Controversy Surrounding Minority Leaders
The selection process for the minority leadership positions in the Senate has raised concerns. Senators Mwadkwon and Oyewumi were named Minority Leader and Deputy Minority Leader without the input of the major opposition party, the PDP. The PDP had expressed its intention to communicate with Akpabio regarding the Senate minority leadership position, as consultations were still ongoing. Despite this, 38 out of the 50 opposition senators reportedly voted for the minority leaders. Senator Garba Musa Maidoki criticized the procedure, emphasizing the need for party input. In defense, Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele argued that the decision involved multiple opposition parties and was based on the consensus of the senators themselves.
