According to a resident, Sani Baba, the attack was orchestrated by bandit leaders Ali Kawajo and Damina, alongside a notorious figure known as ‘Black.’ This criminal leader had enslaved numerous farmers and forced them to work on his farmlands.

Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, could not be reached for comment during this incident.

However, there was a glimmer of hope as troops from Sector 1 Operation Hadarin Daji, in collaboration with Forward Operating Base (FOB) Wanke in Gusau LG, successfully neutralized seven bandits.

Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander of the Joint Task Force, North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji, commended the bravery and resilience of the troops during the operation.

In a separate incident, bandits struck Bauchi State, causing the death of the village head of Kada village, Mai Anguwa Ali, and five others.

Additionally, the bandits engaged in a gunfight with soldiers in Gamji Village, leading to the loss of one volunteer security personnel and injuring an army personnel.

Witnesses reported that the bandits invaded the area on motorcycles, launching a violent attack on the villages. Several shops were burgled, and foodstuffs and motorcycles were stolen.

Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the tragic events. He stated that seven people were killed, and three bandits were neutralized during the encounter with security forces. The injured soldier was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.

To address the escalating security situation, law enforcement agencies, military personnel, and local vigilantes have initiated a manhunt for the perpetrators, and the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police has instructed a comprehensive investigation into the attacks.

In a chilling development, gunmen stormed Yadagungume and kidnapped the wife, daughter, and driver of a prominent businessman, Alhaji Lawan Maliya.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the day. This abduction came just days after the Bauchi State Police Command successfully rescued ten kidnapped victims, neutralized two kidnappers, and arrested another in Ningi LG.
