5,545 candidates graduate from MAU @ 28th convocation
Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola has graduated no fewer than 5,545 students for the 2022/2023 Academic Session with a few from the previous session who could not make it to the last convocation.
Prof. Abdullahi Tukur, the Vice Chancellor of the University disclosed this at the 28th convocation ceremony in Yola on Saturday.
He said the candidates in all, “made up of 458 Diplomas, and 4282 in the Bachelor’s Degree category, with 53 first class. 1,143 second class upper. 2,376 second class lower, 682 third class and 28 pass degrees.
“For the higher Degrees, we shall award 41 Postgraduate Diplomas. 630 masters Degrees and 134 Ph.Ds in various disciplines”, he said.

According to him, as always, the certificates of all the graduates are ready for collection on the day of convocation.
He added that the university has achieved a lot with the support of individuals and organizations.
In his remarks, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta congratulated the graduands for their hard work.
He advised them to also work hard for more success in future.
Fintiri also commended the management of the university and the outgoing VC for witnessing three convocations in five years despite strike and COVID-19.
He further assured his continued support for the university because of the value he placed on education.
Okuku Adiaka III, Paramount ruler of Obot Akara LGA, Akwa Ibon State and MAU Chancellor said, the success recorded is not only for the graduating students but a great achievement for the management and staff of the university.
He encouraged the graduating students to live up to expectations by working very hard for the development of the country.
The Chancellor further appreciated parents and guardians for their generous support and encouragement to the institution.
