Prof. Ibrahim Umar emerges 9th VC of MAU
Modibbo Adama University, Yola Governing Council after its 17th special meeting August 2024, has considered the board report selection and approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Umar as the 9th new substantive Vice Chancellor of the University.
A statement signed by the Information and Protocol officer of the University, Aminu Julde Gurumpawo said his appointment did not come by surprise because the erudite scholar cum administrator is a square peg in a square hole.

His appointment was announced by the Pro-chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council M. A. U Yola, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi at the end of the meeting.
Professor Umar is a professor of Crop Protection and hails from Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Until his appointment, he was a former Rector, Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola and will serve a single term of five years with effect from date of his appointment.
