Dr. Umar Ardo mourns Sen. Zwingina
Adamawa renowned political activist, Dr. Umar Ardo has expressed sadness over the death of political giant and elder statesman, Sen Jonathan Silas Zwingina saying that the death has left a gaping cleavage that will be difficult to fill.
In a statement he personally signed, the politician said Nigeria has lost an outstanding patriot in the death of Zwingina whose lifetime is replete with phenomenal strides and excellent achievements.

“It is with profound sadness that I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of our elder brother, Senator Silas Zwingina, a remarkable statesman, scholar, and patriot whose life and legacy have left an indelible mark on Nigeria and beyond.
“Senator Zwingina’s outstanding contributions as an academic and political activist will be remembered for generations. His passion for the betterment of Nigeria was evident in his role as the Director General of Chief MKO Abiola’s historic presidential campaign, which led to the June 12, 1993 victory – a defining moment in our nation’s democratic struggle.
“As a legislator, his wisdom and integrity shaped many of the policies that continue to guide Nigeria today. The loss of Senator Zwingina is deeply felt, not only by his immediate family and the people of Guyuk and Adamawa, but also by the entire nation and the global academic community. His intellectual contributions and dedication to public service have left a legacy that will continue to inspire us all,” Ardo said.
