Despite the fact that conventionally, parliamentarians the world over have their job of lawmaking constitutionally cut out clearly for them, here in Nigeria, we have another variant of the Legislature’s responsibilities which has accommodated what is known today as “constituency projects”, of which skills empowerment of their respective needy constituents falls within that spectrum.

It is in the light of the above that between the 3rd and 6th of December 2024 the office of Distinguished Senator Engr Patrick Ndubueze, Imo North aptly responded by diligently selecting over 100 of it’s needy youths and women across the Senatorial district towards aiding them in equipping themselves with various vocational skills (with relevant start-up kits) for main or complimentary employments.

The exercise that took place at Links Hotels Ltd Owerri had beneficiaries that majored in;

(1) Floor stamp concrete.
(2) Production of liquid soap, body cream/petroleum jelly and antiseptic lotions.
(3) Installation of 3D panels & wall papers.
(4) Beads crafting & Headgear making.
(5) Tile cleaning,etc .

Interestingly, the Distinguished Senator Ndubueze who visited the trainee-beneficiaries recently saw some of them who were so appreciative and excited with his gesture and reciprocated by adorning the labels of some of their finished products with the Senators pictures.

Having noticed the appreciable success recorded in this last exercise, the processing for another batch of prospective beneficiaries of this ongoing project across the Senatorial district will be coming up in a few months’ time.
