Adamawa Govt Reaffirms Commitment for continuous support to FCE Yola
The Adamawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the quality of education in the state by pledging continued collaboration with the management of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola. This assurance was given by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, during a meeting with the Governing Council of the college on Friday.
Professor Farauta emphasized that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has prioritized education since assuming office, implementing policies and initiatives aimed at improving educational institutions across the state. She highlighted the government’s unwavering support for all tertiary institutions in Adamawa, noting that these efforts have significantly contributed to enhancing the learning environment and overall academic standards.

Speaking further, the Deputy Governor assured the management of FCE Yola that the state government would maintain a close partnership with the institution to create a more conducive learning atmosphere. She stressed that education remains one of the key pillars of Governor Fintiri’s administration and that the government will continue to invest in policies and infrastructure that promote academic excellence.
In addition to strengthening institutional support, Professor Farauta advocated for equal representation of all 21 local government areas in the state within federal institutions. She called for an increase in employment opportunities for Adamawa indigenes in federal establishments, particularly within the Federal College of Education, Yola. She expressed optimism that such measures would help bridge employment gaps and ensure a fair distribution of opportunities for residents across the state.
The Deputy Governor made these remarks while hosting the Governing Council of FCE Yola in her office. The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Governing Council, Engineer Saheed Johnson, visited the Government House to express their appreciation for the state’s continuous support to the college.
In his address, Engineer Johnson acknowledged the invaluable assistance provided by the Adamawa State Government, which has played a crucial role in the institution’s development. He commended Governor Fintiri’s administration for its commitment to advancing education and appealed for further collaboration and support to enhance the college’s service delivery.
He further emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between the state government and federal institutions to improve academic performance, research, and infrastructural development. Accompanying the Governing Council Chairman were other key officials, including the Provost, Deputy Provost, Registrar, external members of the 8th Governing Council, and top management staff of the college. Their presence underscored the significance of the visit and the college’s dedication to working closely with the state government for the benefit of students and staff.
In a separate gesture, Engineer Johnson extended condolences to the Deputy Governor over the recent passing of her Senior Special Assistant. He expressed sympathy on behalf of the council and prayed for strength for the bereaved family during this difficult time.
