Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has tasked the youths to refrain from using social media negatively.
Fintiri who was represented by his
Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta made this disclosure at the Annual Convention of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) in Demsa Local Government,
Farauta advised youths to leverage social media platforms to spread the gospel and promote development in the state and country instead of using it negatively.

The convention, themed “You are the light of the world,” brought together LCCN members and other denominations from Adamawa, Nigeria, and worldwide. The LCCN convention is the largest church annual convention in the state that politicians do not joke with for political reasons and also to promote peace and unity in the state.
Professor Farauta emphasized the importance of unity among Christians, urging them to be change agents promoting security, peace, unity, and development.
Archbishop of the LCCN, Musa Panti Filibus, in his remarks, highlighted the need for strengthened theological education and leadership formation. He stressed the importance of reflecting on the church’s journey, encouraging one another, and renewing their commitment to faith and hope in Christ.
Filibus said , Farauta is a renowned academic professor and politician, she has been a strong advocate for youth development and education. As the first female deputy governor in the North East of Nigeria, she has inspired many young people to take an active role in shaping their communities.
The convention also featured a cake-cutting ceremony, led by Deputy Governor Farauta, marking a significant milestone for the LCCN. The event demonstrated the church’s commitment to unity, peace, and development in Adamawa State and beyond.
As a professor and politician, Farauta has brought a unique perspective to her role as deputy governor. Her experience as a former vice-chancellor of Adamawa State University and commissioner of education has equipped her to tackle the challenges facing Adamawa State’s youth ².
