Chairman of the Committee, Major General Bitrus Kwaji (rtd), said the whole journey so far has reflected selfless concerted efforts.
“It has been a testament to the strength and unity of our people, a celebration of values that bind us together as a people,” he asserted.
He said his committee witnessed the coming together of families, friends and neighbors, including those in the diaspora.
“All were united in reverence to our new king,” he said.
Other members of the Mbege Ka Michika Coronation Main Organising Committee included Hon Adamu Kamale who once represented Michika LGA in the state House of Assembly and then Michika/Madagali in the House of Representatives; as well as the Executive Chairman of the Michika Local Government Council, Hon Dambiyu Tumba.
Tumba said in a news interview on the side of the report presentation that the new Mbege Ka Michika has since proven the relevance of traditional leadership by further uniting the people of Michika.
Speaking after being presented the report on his corronation, the Mbege Ka Michika said that, against earlier impression created by some enemies of the land that Michika people could not maintain a kingdom, this has been proven to be wrong since the creation of the chiefdom.
The king said to members of the committee and the rest of Michika people, “You have shown that all you need is opportunity to make a success of our chiefdom. Keep on doing the good job.”
He asserted that nothing will stop Michika people in proving naysayers wrong and advancing the cause of the land.
