FMC B-Kudu cooperative society saves N607m in 2024
The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Birnin Kudu chapter of the Multi Purpose Cooperative Loan Society said it has recorded a total annual saving of N607 million in 2024.
Malam Aminu Ado Taura, the chairman of the management committee of the cooperative announced this in Birnin Kudu on Friday during the Annual General Meeting of the cooperative.

He added that within the period under review the cooperative has disbursed N45 million out of the savings made by registered members who retired from active service or transfered their services to other organizations.
According to him, the cooperative has outstanding loan of N486 million being loan facility disbursed to members to enhance their welfare.
He added that during the previous Ramadan fasting the society has purchased and distributed foodstuffs and other consumables worth N127 million.
” The society was presently having stocks worth N12.7 million that included mattresses, gas burners and grains,” he said.
“Our consumer shop is stocked with items worth N3.9million” he added.
He explained that a total loss of N970,000 was recorded within the period under review.
” We have installed CCTV camera and solar inverter to improve security in our secretariat” he said.
Ado Taura, said his administration has developed a robust accounting software to ensure probity, accountability and frugal management of resources.
” We are planning to takeover the hospital catering services to make food more affordable and accessible to the staff of the center,” he said.
In his remarks, Malam Nasir Ringim, state director of the cooperative society lauded the effort of the society for prudent management of resources.
He called on the members to continue to save in the society for a brighter future even after retirement from service.
Dr Adamu Abdullahi Atterwhamie , the medical Director of the hospital lauded the management of the cooperative for their visionary and impactful leadership.
He said the multi purpose cooperative society has been very supportive to both the staff and the management of the centre.
He assured that their door was wide open for any assistance or intervention needed by the society.
