Kwankwaso is too disciplined, patriotic, clean to be in APC – Calculate
• Says the Kwankwasiyya movement leader cannot be bought over by Tinubu
In this interview with newsmen, Adamawa’s prolific political commentator, and chieftain of the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC) Mr. Umar Bello Jada also known as Calculate has vouched for the integrity and character of the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso noting that all the hype being promoted by the ruling party to the effect that he will join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will be shortlived.
He noted that Kwankwaso is too principled to be swayed by pecuniary inducements and too strong in conviction to be threatened by mortal potentates and wielders of transient power.
Calculate noted that Kwankwaso is not a man who will sacrifice the treasured reputation he built over the years for political expediency and other ephemeral considerations. He expressed optimism that Kwankwaso will work with other well meaning and patriotic Nigerians to rescue the country from the anarchy that has loomed large since Tinubu assumed the reigns of power.
Excerpts:
Question: The rumour mill is currently awash with news that the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Sen. Musa Kwankwaso will soon deliver a mortal blow to the new coalition by joining president Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election. How do you view this latest development?

You’ll be under me once you join APC, Ganduje reminds Kwankwaso, Kano gov
I believed the rumor mill you talked about is the creation of the ruling party, who has over the years grabbed power through deceits, subterfuge, lies, blackmail and all manner of shenanigans. That is why having internalized the maze of lies and deceits, Nigerians have come to the conclusion that the only way they can have some reprieve is to get rid of this Frankensteins monster that has over the years sucked their blood and left them at mercy of hunger, social insecurity, unemployment, economic tumult and all sorts of adversities.
Coming back to your question, I want to say with all sense of seriousness and responsibility that the Kwankwaso who I know will be the last man to join the discredited ruling party even in the face of financial inducements and threats. He is one amongst the few finest and rare politicians we have in Nigeria and will never take a decision that is obverse to the wishes of Nigerian masses. That is why over the years his mass support base has being growing from strength to strength.
Kwankwaso is not a politician who takes impulsive decisions nor enter into agreements for personal benefits. He always consult with the masses before making the dive and you know more than 90 percent of Nigerian masses are opposed to the irresponsible leadership that has become the pastime of the APC led government in Nigeria.
Without equivocation I want to forcefully aver that Kwankwaso is too disciplined, too principled and too independent minded to be swayed into joining a political party that has no nuance of consideration for the masses, a party whose policy direction and manifesto is rooted in deceit and callous subjugation, a party that only fosters divisions and disunity, a party that has made Nigerians objects of pity and a party which gleefully watch Nigeria’s drift to the bottomless pit of authoritarianism.
Q: Are you not afraid that being one of Nigerian politicians who are known for double standards Kwankwaso will disappoint you especially with the way you dressed him in saintly robes knowing the mindset of Nigerian politicians?
A: In Nigeria of today, no singular politician has build a movement of ardent and cult-like support base like Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. No politician will be able to form such an impregnable and massive support base through deceit.
Kwankwaso has over the years remained faithful, respectful and subservient to the will and idiosyncrasies of the masses, that is why in reciprocity, they also remained truly committed to his ideals. Based on years of goodwill, trust and confidence, the people are viewing Kwankwaso as a messianic politician which also made them to become eternally committed to him. I can confidently tell you that Kwankwaso has over five million of such committed and dedicated followers across Nigeria. No politician could get such massive cult-like support base by accident.
Q: The ruling party has already dismissed the new ADC coalition as a non-issue saying that it was populated by failed politicians who were given the opportunity but woefully failed the people. The ruling party also said most of them wouldn’t be agitating for change if they were patronized by the government. What is your take?
Nothing actually rattled the incompetent government led by president Tinubu like the birth of the ADC knowing that it is the only potent and viable structure that can oust it from power. In fact, this coalition swam against powerful tides and was only able to sail through due to the overarching commitment of patriotic Nigerians to rescue the country, otherwise, it will have imploded by the landmines planted on its path by the government.
The government was behind the failure of our attempt to form the coalition via SDP, and it has also made concerted subterranean moves to frustrate this coalition from coming into being but could not succeed because of the commitment of the patriotic Nigerians championing it. Even as I’m talking to you, the government is using some irritants to to obliterate the coalition. So it is the height of illogic for the government to now turn and make such trite statements.
Going history lane, in the build up to the 2015 general election, the then ruling party, the PDP has made similar rhetoric when APC was formed saying that it consist of failed politicians and all sorts of blackmail, where is PDP now? So in a nut shell, history is about to repeat itself and those who are consigned to be its victims are also fiddling, and have lost the wisdom and foresight to decipher that danger is lurking around until they are also consumed.
Let me reiterate one fact, some people in the coalition are the best politicians this country has produced therefore to besmirch their records of service is a monumental disservice to our fatherland.
Take for instance the former vice president Atiku Abubakar, who fortunately became one of the most visible vice presidents in history because of the enormity of responsibilities he shouldered for eight years and who was behind most of the success stories of president Olusegun Obasanjo.
It is to the credit of the Obasanjo/Atiku presidency that Nigeria got out of the debt mess that ensnared it for decades as well as putting in place the best cabinet in history. The Obasanjo/Atiku presidency also ensured security for all Nigerians and was reputed to have dealt a decisive blow on Boko Haram snare during its formative years, it made Nigeria’s economy one of the fastest growing economy in the world, stabilized the naira in international maro and take Nigeria into the map of the most respected nations in the world.
Let me also tell you in terms of character and conduct, we have the most respected leaders in our midst. Going by the fact that the federal government has been using state apparatus to intimidate politicians into joining its fold or doing its bidding, you will be convinced that we have some of the cleanest politicians, otherwise, by now, the rank would have been depleted through the hounding of EFCC and other such agencies.
Q: There is also a complaint of ADC takeover by some chieftains of the party including its presidential candidate in the 2023 election which may precipitate a legal tussle. Don’t you think these issues will constitute impediments and distractions to ADC?
The whole evil machinations to cause disinfection in the party is being hatched by the ruling party which is sponsoring some goons to nix it but that will not see the light of the day as all legal frameworks, agreements and other vital instruments for the success of the coalition have been religiously followed. So we are not the least disturbed by the rantings of paid jobbers and mercenaries till we reach the promised land.
