MULAN to ensure justice for 13 trafficked Adamawa children, lauds govt’s swift action
The Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN), Adamawa State Branch has strongly condemned the recent abduction and trafficking of 13 children from the state to Southern Nigeria, describing the act as inhumane, criminal, and a gross violation of the children’s fundamental rights.
In a press statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, El-Kabir Auwal, Esq., the association expressed grave concern over the disturbing reports that the children were stolen, sold, and had their identities illegally altered, effectively severing them from their families and communities.

“This heinous act is not only a criminal offense under both national and international law, but also a grievous affront to our collective conscience as a society. We condemn it in the strongest terms possible,” the statement said
MULAN, however, praised the swift response of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri whose timely intervention, in collaboration with the Adamawa State Police Command, led to the tracing and safe return of the abducted children.
The association described the government’s actions as a reflection of its commitment to the safety and protection of vulnerable citizens, particularly children.
The group also lauded the effort of the police, particularly under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris for successfully apprehending one of the suspected traffickers, Mrs. Ngozi Abdulwahab.
MULAN called for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure all individuals involved in the trafficking network are arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The lawyers’ association reiterated its resolve to pursue justice for the victims and pledged to provide legal support to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
The body also urged the public to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activities to security agencies, noting that community involvement is vital in preventing future occurrences.
“Child trafficking strikes at the core of our values as a people. It must be met with zero tolerance,” the statement declared.
MULAN reaffirmed its commitment to promote children’s rights and uphold the rule of law while praying for the protection of children across Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.
