Police, hunters rescue kidnapped victim in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command, working in collaboration with professional hunters, has rescued a kidnapped victim in Gombi Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the operation took place on August 25, 2025, following credible intelligence on the location of a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in the mountainous parts of Gombi.

A combined team of police operatives from Gombi Divisional Headquarters and local hunters stormed the site. On sighting the security team, the kidnappers opened fire, resulting in a gun battle. Overpowered by the superior firepower of the operatives, the suspects fled the scene, abandoning their victim.
The rescued victim was identified as 28-year-old Isah Adamu, a resident of Gurin town in Fufore Local Government Area. He was found unharmed and has since been reunited with his family.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the officers and hunters for their gallantry and professionalism during the rescue operation. He assured that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing kidnappers.
CP Morris further directed the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case and conduct a discreet investigation to ensure justice is served.
The Adamawa State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protect lives and property, while urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
