Dashen residents smile as Sen Yaroe’s medical team treats close to 1,000 patients
Dashen community in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State was filled with joy and relief over the weekend as Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe’s renowned hospital-on-wheels arrived with a full medical team to deliver free healthcare services to residents long burdened with untreated ailments.
The one-day outreach, held on Saturday at the Dashen Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), brought hope to nearly 1,000 people who flocked to the venue seeking medical assistance.

At the end of the programme, a total of 972 individuals had received treatment for various conditions, while 23 major and minor surgeries were successfully conducted.
Among the surgical procedures carried out were hernia repairs, appendectomies, hydrocelectomies and lumpectomies, alongside several other corrective interventions.
In addition, the team attended to scores of patients suffering from hypertension, diabetes, pelvic inflammatory disease, peptic ulcer disease, malaria, typhoid fever, anaemia and other common health challenges prevalent in underserved communities.
A consultant general surgeon with the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola, Dr. Adediran Charles Adekola, who is part of the Binos Medical Team expressed satisfaction with the smooth and well-organised medical outreach, noting that the turnout reflected the significant medical needs of rural communities like Dashen.
According to him, “We treated about 972 cases today, including 23 surgeries. We also referred some complicated cases to MAUTH Yola for further specialised care. All the patients received both consultation and drugs completely free of charge.”
Earlier, the Lead Consultant, Dr. Jama Medan, reaffirmed Senator Yaroe’s unflinching commitment to improve healthcare delivery in his constituency. He said the senator’s frequent medical missions demonstrate his belief that a healthy population is the foundation of a progressive society.
“If one person is sick, it affects the entire community. That is why Senator Binos places health at the top of his priorities. His goal is to ensure that no one is denied access to medical care simply because they cannot afford it,” he said.
The PHCC Facility Manager, Roseline Esthon, was visibly delighted as she thanked Senator Yaroe for bringing life-changing medical services to the community. She praised the medical team for their professionalism and dedication, describing them as the most efficient group she had ever worked with.
Community leaders also expressed deep appreciation. The District Head of Nyibango-Dashen and Wamban Ganye, Alhaji Ahmadu Baba Kebugangso, lauded Senator Yaroe for what he described as the first comprehensive medical outreach in the history of the community. He said the senator had won the hearts of his people through his compassion and humanitarian interventions.
“Senator Yaroe is truly the People’s Senator. My people and I are grateful for this gesture, and we assure him of our full support come the 2027 general elections,” he said.
For many beneficiaries, the outreach brought an end to years of pain and suffering. One of them, Malam Abubakar Dashen, had battled a strange ailment for 12 years. He shared his testimony with deep emotion after receiving free treatment that finally cured his condition.
“I lack words to thank Senator Yaroe. Only God can reward him. Today, I am finally free from the sickness that troubled me for so long,” he said.
Another resident, Mrs. Beauty Ayuba Momsiri, who had lived with a hernia for years, underwent surgery and was discharged in stable condition. Speaking with reporters before heading home, she said, “I want to sincerely thank Senator Yaroe for this great help. I will never forget him. May God bless him and continue to guide him.”
For the people of Dashen, the outreach was more than a medical mission it was a lifeline, a reminder that their wellbeing matters, and a testament to how impactful leadership can change lives in the most meaningful ways.
