Mgmt ctee members honour MD FMC B-KUDU for outstanding performance
The members of the top management committee of the Federal Medical Center Birnin Kudu in Jigawa State have presented an award of meritorious and outstanding achievement to the medical Director of the hospital Dr Adamu Abdullahi Atterwhamie.
The Head of Clinical Service of the centre, Dr. Halima Ibrahim Umar, who presented the award on behalf of the committee said the initiative was informed by the commitment and dedication of the medical Director.

She said the medical Director has recently settled the backlog of eight months salary arrears to over 1000 staff of the hospital engaged on locum status.
“All the affected staff went home jubilating and praying for the best on the medical Director and the hospital for this
wonderful effort”” she said.
She explained that Dr Attewhamie was a leader by example” adding that he cares for the welfare of his staff and he doesn’t joke with operational activities of the hospital.
Umar assured that the committee would continue to support the good initiatives of the medical Director especially on staff welfare,empowerment and health care delivery.
Responding, Dr Atterwhamie described the award presentation as one of the happiest moment of his life, saying I’m highly thrilled and honoured by this award and it would motivate me us to do more.
He said he was proud of the committee for being very proactive and contributive to operation of the hospital,saying I dedicated all the successes recorded to this committee and the entire staff of the hospital.
When contacted Malama Aishatu Mohammed a spokesperson of the beneficiary who smiled home with her eight months salary arrears has described the effort as unprecedented.
She assured that the affected staff would continue to dedicate themselves to the services of the center for effective and efficient health care delivery.
In a related development, the medical Director was presented a commendation letter by a community based NGO, Mafitar Matasan Birnin Kudu for his resilience and hardwork which positioned the hospital to an enviable position.
Earlier in his remarks Malam Saminu Shehu Matawalle chairman of the group described the ongoing transformation in the hospital under Atterwhamie as unprecedented .
He said the host community to the hospital would continue to support the policies and programmes of the hospital, saying the recent policy of free delivery and ante- natal care to pregnant mothers as a welcome development.
