The project, situated within the Federal Housing Estate in Girei Local Government Area, features reinforced concrete drains, culverts and a 3.5-kilometre stormwater drainage system. It is designed to enhance access, ease mobility and address flood control challenges within the estate and neighbouring communities.
Dr. Saraki commended Governor Fintiri for what he described as consistent, people-focused infrastructural development across the state. He praised the governor’s leadership style, noting his integrity and commitment to improve the welfare of the people.
Reflecting on his long-standing relationship with the governor, the former Senate President urged residents of Adamawa State to continue to support the Fintiri led administration to enable it to deliver more dividends of democracy.
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri said the commissioning went beyond the completion of a road project, describing it as a reflection of his administration’s governance philosophy built on results, accountability and service to the people.
According to him, the road network will significantly improve daily life by reducing travel time, boosting economic activities and strengthening social and commercial interactions within the estate and adjoining areas.
The governor recalled that the project was flagged off in May 2024 as part of deliberate efforts to resolve long-standing access and mobility problems in the area. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to complete all awarded projects and avoid abandoned works, stressing that infrastructure development remains critical to the state’s long-term growth.
Governor Fintiri further assured residents that ongoing and future projects would be executed with diligence and transparency, adding that no community would be left behind in the development drive.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Energy, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, described the road network as a crucial internal link serving residents, traders, commuters and service providers within the Federal Housing Estate and its environs.
He said the project has reduced travel time, improved road safety, increased property values and created employment opportunities during its construction. He also commended the contractors for delivering the project ahead of schedule and urged residents to protect the drainage infrastructure.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Chairman of Girei Local Government Area, Adamu Dallatu; the member representing Girei Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Abubakar Abdullahi; the District Head of Girei; and the Ubandoma of Adamawa, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Musa, alongside Halilu Hammamjoda. They collectively applauded Governor Fintiri for his infrastructural achievements and commitment to grassroots development.
