APC welcomes new guber hopeful, insists Tinubu has no rival come 2027

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday formally received a new governorship aspirant, Engr. Diaulhaq Abubakar, declaring that there is no alternative to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The state chairman of the party, Barrister Idris Shuaibu, made the assertion while addressing journalists on the sidelines of a ceremony held to welcome the aspirant at the APC State Secretariat in Yola.

Shuaibu expressed confidence that the APC would retain power at the centre, describing President Tinubu as a tested and result-oriented leader whose achievements speak for themselves.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done so much and has clearly shown that he is the best option for Nigeria,” the APC chairman said.

He cited key initiatives of the Tinubu administration, including the student loan scheme, the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, and efforts aimed at curbing insecurity across the country, as clear evidence of purposeful leadership.

According to him, the president’s experience, reforms and policy direction leave Nigerians with no reason to look elsewhere in deciding who should lead the country in 2027.

On the Adamawa governorship race, Shuaibu described Engr. Abubakar as a welcome addition, noting that the party remains open and inclusive.

“He is a young, industrious and philanthropic individual. His entry into the race under our party is a positive development, and he is a deserving aspirant in the contest for the 2027 governorship election,” he said.

Speaking during the media briefing to formally declare his ambition, Engr. Diaulhaq Abubakar said his decision to contest was driven by a desire to promote equitable and people-oriented governance in Adamawa State.

“I am a young man with a clear vision for fairness and inclusive development,” he said.

Abubakar pledged to focus on boosting the state’s internally generated revenue to fund critical infrastructure projects, expand skills acquisition programmes for youths and women, and ensure that development reaches all segments of the population.

“My goal is to generate enough revenue to develop infrastructure, promote skills acquisition for personal and economic growth, and generally ensure that every citizen gets what is due to him or her,” he added.

The declaration ceremony attracted party officials, supporters and journalists, as the aspirant fielded questions from the press at the APC State Secretariat in Yola.
