Police move to nip spike of abductions in Adamawa, arrest three suspected kidnappers
The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its sustained fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes with the arrest of three suspected kidnappers during a coordinated security raid in Fufore Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest followed recent kidnapping incidents in Malabu community, including the abduction of Alhaji Ahmadu on January 30, 2026, which triggered intensified security operations across the area.
Acting on actionable intelligence and in strict compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, a joint operation was launched involving police operatives and members of the Miyetti-Allah local security network.
The operation was carried out at a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Jera village, Malabu District, where the security team successfully apprehended three suspects identified as Lawali Haruna (45), Yahaya Ibrahim (25), and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu (28), all residents of Jera in Fufore LGA.
Police sources described the development as particularly disturbing, revealing that one of the suspects is the biological son of the kidnapped victim. Investigations further established that the three suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime.
While efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim unhurt and track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate, the suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Commending the success of the operation, CP Dankombo Morris praised the effective collaboration between the Police and local security stakeholders, noting that such synergy remains critical in tackling crime at the grassroots level.
He reassured residents of Adamawa State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to protect lives and property.
The Commissioner also called on members of the public to continue to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information, stressing that community cooperation remains vital to the sustenance of peace and security across the state.
