Tinubu extolls Ribadu’s patriotic, dogged stance against insecurity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has openly praised the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for what he described as exceptional commitment and integrity in the fight against insecurity across Nigeria.

The President made the commendation on Monday, February 16, 2026, during a one-day working visit to Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, where he commissioned several landmark projects executed by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Speaking at the event, Tinubu described Ribadu as an honest, hardworking and intelligent Nigerian who has continued to make both Adamawa State and the nation proud.

He noted that Ribadu’s efforts as National Security Adviser have strengthened the federal government’s resolve to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other security threats troubling the country.

“I’m proud of you,” the President said, referring to Ribadu as a worthy son of Adamawa whose service is contributing to building a safer and more united Nigeria.

Tinubu emphasized that the fight against insecurity remains one of his administration’s top priorities.

He assured Nigerians that the federal government will continue to invest in intelligence gathering, security reforms and collaboration among security agencies to restore peace and stability nationwide.

Beyond security, the President also commended Governor Fintiri for what he called bold and visionary leadership in transforming Adamawa State through infrastructure development.

During the visit, Tinubu commissioned major projects, including underpass bridges, road networks and other public infrastructure designed to ease traffic, stimulate commerce and modernize the state capital.

He observed that such projects would attract private investment and create new economic opportunities for residents. According to him, infrastructure development is a key driver of economic growth and a sign of responsible governance.

Tinubu further reiterated his administration’s commitment to heavy investments in agriculture, education and human capital development.

He urged Governor Fintiri to continue engaging the people and maintaining inclusive leadership, stressing that sustainable progress can only be achieved when citizens are carried along.

“Thank you, Fintiri, for your commitment to building a new Adamawa State. I’m a very happy man. Let’s continue to serve our people,” the President said.

In his response, Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation for the President’s visit and support. He presented a brief account of his administration’s achievements, particularly in infrastructure, education, the justice sector and governance reforms. He credited federal cooperation for enabling the state government to deliver on its promises to the people.

Describing Tinubu as “the man behind my success,” Fintiri pledged continued loyalty and partnership with the federal government. He assured the President of the unwavering support of Adamawa people.

“We are with you. Adamawa people are with you. All the way, we are with you,” Fintiri declared.
