Barr. Lubna Dodo emerges Adamawa FIDA chairperson
Barrister Lubna Mohammed Dodo has emerged as the new Chairperson of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria, Adamawa State branch, following a bye-election conducted during the association’s Monthly General Meeting held on Friday in Yola.
Barrister Mary John Zambua was also elected as the Vice Chairperson of the association during the exercise, which was conducted by the Electoral Committee of FIDA Nigeria, Adamawa Branch.

A notice issued earlier by the Secretary of the branch, Nguwasen Ruth Ajumebor, fixed the meeting on Friday.
At the end of the electoral process, the Electoral Committee formally announced Barrister Lubna Mohammed Dodo as the duly elected Chairperson of FIDA Nigeria, Adamawa State branch, while Barrister Mary John Zambua emerged as the Vice Chairperson.
They were swiftly sworn into office by the Deputy Chief Registrar, Customary Court of Appeal, Hon Awamem Medan Fwa on Friday.
The Electoral Committee led by Barr Fatima Raji described the process as successful and urged members to support the new leadership as it assumes responsibility for steering the affairs of the association in the state.
FIDA Nigeria is a professional association of women lawyers committed to the promotion, protection and preservation of the rights of women and children.
The organization also works to advance access to justice and legal support for vulnerable members of society.
Some members of the association interviewed by our reporter hailed the emergence of the duo saying that their election will surely open a new chapter in the organization as the new elected leaders are square pegs in square holes.
