Vote Tinubu, Galadima, all APC candidates; Bindow tells supporters, returns to former party

Former Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow, has returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bindow formally re-registered with the ruling party on Sunday at his ward in Mubi, Adamawa State, following consultations with political associates and meetings with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The re-registration was conducted in the presence of the Mubi Ward APC Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Guruja, as supporters, family members, friends, political associates and other well-wishers gathered to welcome the former governor back into the party.
Explaining his decision, Bindow said his return was in line with his commitment to party discipline and his longstanding political principles.
He said the decision followed extensive consultations with political associates and confidants, as well as repeated appeals from former aides, colleagues, supporters and other associates urging him to return to the APC.
Bindow disclosed that he also consulted Vice President Shettima, whom he described as a brother and confidant, before making his decision.
He further recalled his recent meeting with President Tinubu, describing it as pleasant and memorable. According to him, the President expressed delight over his decision to return to the APC.
The former governor subsequently endorsed the party’s candidates and pledged to work for the success of the APC in the 2027 elections.
He urged Adamawa voters to support President Tinubu at the federal level and Ahmad Tijjani Galadima in the governorship election, alongside other APC candidates.
Bindow said his return was not motivated by personal ambition or political rivalry, but by his desire to strengthen the party and contribute to its electoral success.
“I am back to the APC not to divide, but to contribute; not to fight, but to build; and above all, to work with the party and its candidates toward victory,” he said.
Bindow, who had previously sought a second term as governor, withdrew from the Adamawa governorship race on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in May 2026.
His return to the APC is expected to add momentum to the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections in Adamawa, coming amid continuing political realignments ahead of the polls.
