One Ticket, One Adamawa: The APC candidates for the 2027 general elections

By Ahmad Sajoh, fnipr

Adamawa is a State of many valleys, rivers, languages and faiths, and it has always been at its strongest when those differences move together in one direction.

The All Progressives Congress comes to the people of Adamawa in that spirit: thirty-eight candidates, one ticket, one promise.

From the Presidency in Abuja to the smallest State Assembly constituency, the APC has fielded a full team across the 21 Local Government Areas, and the Adamawa APC Campaign Council will promote every one of them with equal energy, equal respect and equal commitment to victory.

The Presidential and National Assembly elections hold on 16 January 2027. The Governorship and State House of Assembly elections follow on 6 February 2027. This is the team that will ask for your vote.

The Presidential Ticket is made up of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. President Tinubu is the APC’s flagbearer and a sitting President seeking a renewed mandate to complete the work he began.

He is paired once again with Vice President Kashim Shettima, a former Governor of Borno State and a son of the North-East, so that our region has a voice at the very top of government. Their case to Adamawa is one of continuity, experience and a federal government that knows the North-East by name.

It means the interventions of the NEDC will continue, the Federal Roads being constructed will be completed and funds coming to our state to pay workers promptly, to clear pensions, to undertake urban renewal will continue unabated.

The Governorship Ticket is in the hands of Ahmed Galadima Aminu and Adamu Dali Kamale as running mate. One a thoroughbred Technocrat, the other a seasoned politician. A blend that knows the job, understands the politics behind the job and appreciates the difference.

The APC’s governorship ticket brings together political experience and a fresh, forward-looking partnership for the Government House at Yola. The ticket is built to be inclusive of Adamawa’s regions and communities, and it carries behind it the organisational reach of one of the largest political parties in Africa.

Its promise is a State government that works hand in hand with the Federal Government, so that federal presence and state ambition pull in the same direction. And it promises continuity of one of the greatest eras of Adamawa transformational development.

The Senate race is anchored on Three Districts, Three Voices. Adamawa North has the Architect of Modern Adamawa state soon to be called Senator Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

In Adamawa North, the APC presents His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. Twice elected Governor of the State, he brings to the Red Chamber a rare combination of executive experience, legislative experience as a former Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and a grassroots reach laced with a name recognition in every ward of the district.

Few candidates anywhere can match the depth of his political structure or his knowledge of what Adamawa North needs from Abuja.

Adamawa Central has Comrade Salihu Mustapha, PhD. A candidate who has administered the APC at the National level for over ten years. Comrade Salihu Mustapha, is a lawyer and a scholar who holds a terminal degree of PhD and six other graduate and post graduate degrees.

Adamawa Central is the district of the State capital, home to a large, educated and politically alert electorate. Dr. Mustapha’s legal training and academic standing speak directly to a district that values the rule of law, ideas and clear communication.

Adamawa South has a medical worker, an astute activist, politician and labour leader Comrade Tangwami Felix Bilishan. For Adamawa South, the APC presents Tangwami Felix Bilishan, a seasoned candidate of several political battles. His qualifications span nursing, political science and public administration, a rare blend of care for people and an understanding of how government works.

The South is a district that has long asked for roads, health services and a strong voice in the Senate, and Comrade Tangwami’s professional background is built around exactly those concerns.

The House of Representatives is made up of Eight Federal Constituencies that carry history and promises for a better Adamawa supported by a strong Federal alignment.

Why will the electorates trust the APC candidates? Why are we confident they will all win and provide a good team for Adamawa State in Abuja? Yes. They Can Win. And here is why.

Demsa/Numan/Lamurde has Barrister Laori Kwamoti Bitrus
A lawyer who brings the maturity of age and the discipline of the law to the Green Chamber. Gangkuba just exited the office of Local Govetnment Chairman of Toungo Local Government. He is well placed to speak for roads, housing and infrastructure in a wide, rural constituency because that is his turf both by training and by political experience.

Gombi/Hong has Barka James Shuaibu as their candidate. An educator and banker combining classroom service with financial know-how.

James has loads of legislative experience as a former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly who had the previledge to act as the Governor of the state for a short while. James Barka is returning to the House of Representatives as a Rankng Member.

For the young Amazon, flying the APC flag in the commercial heart of Adamawa state means much more than just acquiring a legislative seat, it means speaking for a constituency that is both cosmopolitan and rural. It also means breaking a thick glass ceiling where no woman had won a legislative seat in the past. But she is equal to the task. Her candidacy speaks to women and young families across the constituency.

Michika Constituency has Yerima Moses as our candidate with a diploma, representing a constituency with a proud political tradition. He has a strong conbection with the grassroots.

Guyuk Consituency has an experienced legislator and a youth activist in the person of Peter Sunday as our candidate. He comes to the race with the energy of a new generation and the experience of a veteran legislator. Winning ways are always his ways and this time will not be different.

This is our score card going into the 2027 elections. Every office on the ballot has an APC candidate, so voters can choose the party from top to bottom and have a government at the Federal, State and local levels that speaks with one voice.

It is balanced. The ticket draws on all three Senatorial Districts and all 21 Local Government Areas, and brings together lawyers, engineers, teachers, bankers, economists, nurses and public administrators, men and women, elders and young people.

It is diverse, yet it is connected. A President, a governorship candidate, three Senators, eight Representatives and twenty-five Assembly members all working from the same platform means that Adamawa’s needs travel through one chain of cooperation, rather than being lost between rival parties.

A Final Word
To the voters of Adamawa: when you step into the polling unit, you are not choosing thirty-eight individuals in isolation. You are choosing a team that has promised to work as one.

The Adamawa APC Campaign Council will stand behind every candidate, in every constituency, until the last vote is counted.

*One Ticket. One Team. One Adamawa.* That is our maxim at the Media Directorate of the Adamawa State APC Campaign Council.
