The General News, popularly known as TGNews, has unveiled its new corporate trademark logo as part of a comprehensive rebranding and repositioning aimed at strengthening its operations and expanding its presence in Nigeria’s media industry.
The new brand identity was unveiled by the Chief Executive Officer and Director-General of TGNews, Mr Tom Garba, on Saturday, November 7, 2026.

The development marks a significant milestone in the organisation’s evolution from a conventional news platform into an integrated multi- media and communications company.
The redesigned logo features a bold blue ‘TG’ inscription, complemented by a gold-coloured swoosh encircling a globe, positioned above a red banner bearing the word ‘NEWS’ in white lettering.
According to the organisation, the colours and symbols reflect its corporate values and vision.
While blue represents trust, professionalism and stability, gold signifies excellence, value and leadership. The globe underscores its ambition to project Nigerian stories to the international community, while the red banner symbolises the urgency and significance of journalism.
In a statement signed by the Senior Editor, Mr Emmanuel Kwada, TGNews said the rebranding was informed by its determination to align its operations with the demands and opportunities of contemporary journalism.
The statement explained that the organisation had moved beyond the limitations of a single-platform news outlet to embrace an Integrated Multi-Platform Media and Communications Services model.
It identified five strategic pillars driving the new direction: multi-platform reach, professional content, strategic communication, brand visibility, and media services for business and development.
As part of the expansion, TGNews has established its Nigeria national headquarters at Abia House, Abuja, to coordinate its national and international operations.
The Abuja office will serve as the organisation’s central hub for editorial coordination, television production, media consultancy, corporate communications, international representation and strategic partnerships.
The management, however, said its existing office at No. 43, Atiku Abubakar Way, Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State, would remain the Northern Regional Headquarters.
The establishment of the Abuja headquarters is expected to strengthen the organisation’s engagement with national institutions, government agencies, corporate bodies and international partners, while maintaining its grassroots media presence across the country.
In furtherance of its repositioning, TGNews has unveiled an expanded portfolio of 14 specialised services designed to address the growing demands of the media and communications industry.
The services include:
TGNews: News gathering, reporting, analysis and broadcasting.
TG-Media: Centralised media coordination and production.
TG-Event Media Coverage: Live event coverage, documentaries, broadcast and publicity.
TG-Cable Studio: Television production, live studio programmes, recording and post-production.
TG-Media Consulting: Media strategy, content development and brand visibility.
TG-Online Channel: Round-the-clock digital television, live streaming and on-demand content.
TG-International Media Representation: Global news representation, partnerships and media exchange.
TG-Media Print: Newspaper, magazine, journal and special publications.
TG-Public Orientation and Communication Consulting: Public awareness, civic education, campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
TG-Mobile Media Services: Mobile news, alerts, content delivery and social media management.
TG-Corporate Business Media Retainership Services: Corporate branding, reputation management and sustained media visibility.
TG-FM Studio: Radio broadcasting, talk shows, jingles and public engagement.
TG-B2B Promotion: Business-to-business promotion, trade exhibition publicity and investment visibility.
TGNews Media Academy: Professional media training and capacity development.
The expanded portfolio positions the organisation to provide specialised media and communication services to governments, businesses, non-governmental organisations, political organisations, corporate institutions, communities and individuals.
The management said the repositioning was not merely about changing the organisation’s visual identity but also reflected a broader commitment to professionalism, innovation, credibility and wider audience engagement.
It added that the new trademark represented a renewed pledge to uphold the principles of truth, balance and public interest while delivering news and communication services across multiple platforms.
For its established audience, the organisation said its name and commitment to credible journalism remained unchanged, even as it embraced a broader operational structure and expanded ambitions.
With the unveiling of the new logo and the opening of its Abuja headquarters, TGNews says it is entering a new phase of growth, with a stronger national outlook and an ambition to extend its reach beyond Nigeria.
The organisation’s message is that its identity remains TGNews, but its operations, reach and ambitions have entered a new era.
