Adamawa journalists laud L-PRES over workshop on documentary production
Journalists in Adamawa State have expressed deep appreciation to the Adamawa State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) for organizing a capacity-building workshop aimed at equipping media professionals with modern skills in documentation and documentary production.
The training, which spanned two days, brought together 117 participants, including journalists, local government information officers, and social media handlers.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Council, Ibrahim Abdullahi, lauded the initiative.
Represented by his Vice Chairman, Mrs. Nuwamayinah Iddah, Abdullahi noted that the workshop came at a time when the media industry is undergoing a profound digital transformation, driven by rapid technological advancements.
He emphasized that technology is now indispensable for journalists to remain relevant and impactful, especially in an era where multimedia content, digital storytelling, and data-driven narratives dominate the media space.
“The shift toward multimedia content and data-driven storytelling has transformed how we communicate with the public. Learning the art of documentation and documentary production is not just about reporting—it’s about preserving history, educating communities, and inspiring social change,” Abdullahi stated.
He also assured that the media would continue to play its role in effectively disseminating information about L-PRES activities for the benefit of target beneficiaries and the public.
The training was jointly organized by L-PRES and Dunabel Dynamic Concept Limited, a development communication firm focused on capacity-building and strategic media engagement.
In his remarks while declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Livestock and Aquaculture Development, Tijjani Maksha, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Suleiman, praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his unwavering support for the L-PRES initiative.
He stressed that such training would greatly enhance the flow of credible information about the livestock value chain, especially to rural communities.
Maksha also commended L-PRES for its tireless efforts in supporting pastoralists and farmers across Adamawa, urging the project team to sustain its proactive approach to agricultural development.
In his welcome address, the State Coordinator of L-PRES, Mr. Secondee Alfa, explained that the purpose of the workshop was to deepen public understanding and support for the project’s goals.
He reiterated L-PRES’s focus on helping pastoralists and livestock farmers adopt global best practices, thereby enhancing their productivity and resilience.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, represented by the Director of Information, Pryan Lubba, noted that the success of L-PRES would translate into improved livestock productivity and economic empowerment for many households in the state. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained effectively, in order to create meaningful impact through accurate and engaging storytelling.
